Field Note 01Project update

Maintenance of low-voltage circuit breakers during dry docking

During a scheduled dry docking, Sin-Ergy maintained and tested the low-voltage power circuit breakers on an oceangoing vessel. All work had to be completed within the tight dry-dock schedule, without delaying other technical activities on board.

Maintenance within the dry-dock schedule

During a scheduled dry docking, Sin-Ergy maintained and tested the low-voltage power circuit breakers on an oceangoing vessel. The work had to fit within a tight dry-dock schedule alongside other technical activities on board.

From dismantling to testing

The circuit breakers were dismantled, cleaned and inspected and, where necessary, readjusted and lubricated. Among other checks, contact resistance, insulation resistance, switching times and protection functions were tested.

The closing coils, trip coils, motor operators and auxiliary contacts were also checked.

Early-stage defects identified in time

Several early-stage defects and mechanical irregularities were identified during maintenance. The inspection brought these issues to light in time for follow-up maintenance.
